"Am I afraid of the light?" Yes, I think that is the problem of free will: when they turn on the lights, will I be rejected and it was my own damn free choice that I was too?
But even with free will, how much of the story are we writing and how much are we just acting out, trying to put our best spin on the lines?
"Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God - through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

I got a ton out of this! The short stories seem to reveal the bondage of the mind/battle should I say. That whether you are in jail physically or not, your mind and spirit are the real places that need freedom. People tend to find comfort in their bondage afraid of what they may have to do. The thunder and lightning seemed to represent God, for his words and He comes like lightning in a storm full of light so blinding. But the fear of the Lord is grand indeed. I love how you put God's thunderous and loving words to them in their conversations to themselves. And, you are a great writer because you included yourself physically and mindfully in the story. He is so good!
